“The Drift” release party @ The Drafthouse, Austin

The most excellent cinema/bar, , will be hosting the 4AD/Beggars Group for The Drift on Monday, May 8th. If all goes according to plan, they will be screening a few extended scenes from the film along with a bunch of classic Scott/Walker Brothers video highlights.

    Looks like the U.S. release date has been pushed back to May 23. Why?

    Because American critics need to hear the Brits gush before they take a gamble on using precious media space. I mean what if Matchbox 20 regroup! I know it’s cynical but it’s not entirely untrue.

    They should do a release party at Barbara Gladstone or something.

    I must admit that the mind boggles at the notion of a “release party for The Drift”. It’s not exactly wine and finger foods is it.

    I’ve heard the release date has been pushed back even more, to June 6th at amazon…WTF!!
